ABOUT FOLK

FOLK is a café that's run by people who love eating good food and drinking great coffee. It's a space that’s functional, fun and relaxed. We welcome business users, children, dogs, cyclists and walkers. We are vegetarian, vegan and breastfeeding friendly.

Whether you’re looking to hold a business lunch, to relax with friends and family or simply satisfy your hunger en route: you’re guaranteed a warm welcome at FOLK.

WE’RE ON OUR WAY…

FOLK is just starting out and we’re excited about our journey. Initially opening 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday, we hope to extend our opening hours to weekends in 2019.

THE SPACE

FOLK is a sympathetically restored farm building, located at Fornham Business Court, just outside the centre of historic Bury St Edmunds. Fornham Business Court is made up of a mix of architecturally pleasing buildings housing local businesses, surrounded by beautiful fields and woodland walks.

Outside, FOLK stays true to its agricultural roots with a lovingly restored 1924 tractor for children to play on and a mud kitchen to get messy in. Inside, the space is simple and clean in design, with the exposed brickwork and, original timbers providing a laid back vibe in which to relax.

FACILITIES

FOLK has facilities designed for modern working, including:

  • Free Wi-Fi (100MB)

  • Free car parking

  • Disabled access

  • Bike racks

  • Seating for approx. 45

  • Space for business/interest workshops (please enquire)

WHY FOLK?

FOLK was chosen because it sums up feelings of togetherness, collaboration and community. It’s also half the letters of our lovely county which is pretty cool. You don’t have to even like folk music but if that’s your thing then that’s fine by us – we’re big music lovers and perfectly pitched soundtracks are set to be a hallmark at FOLK.
